PRIME MINISTER ARE A 2 PIECE ENGLISH POP/ROCK BAND FROM WEST SUSSEX.
THEY WERE FORMED BY PHIL MATTHEWS AND MARK PEARSON AFTER A MEETING AT A JAM NIGHT IN CRAWLEY. WITH A SHARED PASSION FOR THE BEATLES, BOB DYLAN, GENESIS AND XTC, AS WELL AS NON LEAGUE FOOTBALL, IT SEEMED WRITTEN IN THE STARS THAT THEY WOULD HAVE TO COMBINE FORCES.
THEIR UNIQUE BRAND OF MUSIC COMBINES CLASSIC BRITISH SONGWRITING WITH A CONTEMPORARY EDGE, AND IS BUILT ROUND A MIX OF ACOUSTIC AND ELECTRIC GUITARS.
THE DEBUT PRIME MINISTER ALBUM, TITLED TEN, WAS GIVEN A 4 STAR REVIEW BY RNR MAGAZINE WITH DAVID ROBINSON STATING 'PRIME MINISTER DELIVER WITH A NATURAL ENERGY EVOKING THE QUIRKY POP WRITERS OF THE 60S.'
FOLLOWING THE CRITICAL SUCCESS OF THEIR DEBUT RELEASE HAVE NOW COMPLETED A SECOND ALBUM TITLED EVERYTHING TURNS TO DUST, WHICH JUST HAPPENS TO BE THE TITLE OF THE MOST ENIGMATIC SONG ON THERE.
PHIL WAS BORN IN DERBY AND NUMBERS APPLAUSE AND LAF AMONG THE BANDS THAT HE IS BEST REMEMBERED FOR BEFORE LAUNCHING A SOLO CAREER UNDER THE GUISE OF THE VILLAGE.
MARK WAS BORN IN CLAPHAM (S W LONDON). HE HAS PLAYED IN A NUMBER OF BANDS INCLUDING ORIGINALS BAND 25 WATT IDIOT AND LONG RUNNING POPULAR LOCAL COVERS BAND HEROES. HE HAS ALSO RELEASED SOLO MUSIC UNDER THE NAME PANCH.
