Phil Matthews a.k.a. the Village

 

 

 

I've been writing and recording songs for almost as long as I can remember.

 

I wrote or co-wrote for every band that I performed with.

 

I created the Village as an outlet for my more recent songs. Some did not fit in stylistically with the bands I was playing in, and some came in a burst of creativity that I felt I needed to get heard while my most recent band LaF was in a period of rest.

 

Many of the songs are regularly performed in my live shows which I either play solo or as half of a duo.
